The University of Manchester has a vacancy for the above within its Application Support and Development section. The postholder will undertake a range of project, technical and user focused actions to ensure the continued improvement and extension of the University's HR Systems (ResourceLink). The person will be working with users at all levels and on a range of projects/services and must deliver a high level of quality, enthusiasm and drive and possess excellent communication skills.
The successful candidate will have experience of application development & support, IT support skills and knowledge of RDBMS technology and SQL. The University uses Discoverer and Cognos to report on the data held in the HR system and knowledge of these tools would be an advantage.
Training will be provided where needed and the successful candidate will have the opportunity of working with major business applications and technologies in an exacting but exciting environment. This is a fixed term post of 9 months duration to cover a period of maternity leave commencing in October 2010. The post is part time (0.8 FTE).
