You will undertake research focused on developing ceramic coatings for nuclear reactor application and aero-engine applications. You will have the opportunity to work with European partners to carry out basic research on SiC and carbon coatings produced by chemical vapour deposition.
You will have a PhD, or equivalent in Materials Science and Engineering, or a related discipline in the field of ceramics and or chemical vapour deposition, or a related subject. You should also have experience of advanced electron microscopy (TEM, SEM), advanced characterisation techniques and have experience of ceramics and chemical vapour deposition
Proven organisational skills, excellent writing and communication skills as well as being a self-motivator, are further key requirements.
The position is available immediately, and is tenable until 28th February 2012.
